Senior Process Engineer

RIFT is commercialising Iron Fuel Technology as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels for industrial heat. At the core of this technology is the Iron Fuel Boiler, designed to convert iron powder into reliable, high-temperature heat for industrial applications.

As Senior Process Engineer, you take technical ownership of the full process design of our Iron Fuel Boiler systems. You translate R&D insights into robust industrial process designs and ensure that the technology is scalable, efficient and technically feasible from concept through to implementation. You lead the process design as we move from development to commercial deployment.

What you do as a Senior Process Engineer

• You lead and define the full process design of the Iron Fuel Boiler.

• You translate R&D results into industrial process designs and develop them towards deployable systems.

• You set process design criteria and review key engineering deliverables, including PFDs and P&IDs.

• You coordinate process engineering within multidisciplinary teams and mentor engineers.

• You take responsibility for the technical feasibility and performance of the complete boiler system.

What you bring

• You have at least 8 years of experience in process engineering within the heat, energy or (petro)chemical industry.

• You have proven experience with combustion systems and boiler equipment.

• You have led process design from conceptual development through to industrial implementation.

• You are confident reviewing and approving key engineering deliverables such as PFDs and P&IDs.

• You have coordinated technical work within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• You are comfortable working in an environment where processes, standards and ways of working are still evolving, and you are able to bring structure without relying on large corporate systems.

• You combine technical depth with the ability to guide and mentor other engineers.

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Energy Technology or a related discipline is expected.
