Job description

RIFT develops Iron Fuel Technology for sustainable heat production. With two industrial pilot systems in operation, we are looking for a Plant Support Engineer who can translate technical improvements into practical applications and who is energised by optimising process automation. In this role, you will support both pilot systems (Arnhem & Helmond).

How you can make an impact

As a Plant Support Engineer, you are the link between the operations team and technical support. You ensure that our installations run optimally, malfunctions are quickly resolved and innovations are implemented. You will contribute to the further development of our technology and ensure a safe, efficient and future-proof testing environment. With your technical expertise and organisational skills, you will contribute to achieving the RIFT mission: commercialising Iron Fuel Technology to make a global impact.

What you do as a Plant Process Engineer

  • Develop and implement technical improvements to the installation, based on test data and findings, among other methods.

  • Optimise process automation and control systems.

  • Install, maintain and calibrate sensors and measurement and control equipment.

  • Draw up maintenance plans and procedures to ensure the installations operate as efficiently as possible.

  • Maintain the list of outstanding issues for troubleshooting and improvements, prioritise actions and assign them to colleagues.

  • Coordinate and manage MoC processes relating to modifications to installations and working procedures, in collaboration with the Process Development Engineer.

  • You will participate in safety studies (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL) to identify and mitigate safety risks.

Job requirements

Why you make a difference? You...

  • MBO/HBO working and thinking level in Electrical Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology or Control Engineering, preferably in the heat, energy production, (petro)chemical or similar industry.

  • Knowledge of industrial automation and process installations.

  • Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting and process optimisation.

  • Enjoys working in a dynamic, innovative environment, with a hands-on mentality and a passion for analysing and solving problems.

  • Has experience with Management of Change (MoC) processes.

  • Has strong leadership skills and can prioritise under pressure.

  • Is willing to work in both Arnhem and Helmond, with a focus on the Arnhem location.
