RIFT is an innovative startup dedicated to decarbonizing heat-intensive industries with our groundbreaking Iron Fuel Technology. As we expand our projects and advance our technology, we are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer who combines technical excellence with leadership skills to drive our processes and team forward.

What you’ll do as a Lead Mechanical Engineer

  • You design and develop complex mechanical systems and products, from concept to delivery (FEED/EPC phase).

  • You perform design calculations and simulations to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.

  • You lead a team of mechanical engineers, guiding and coaching your colleagues in their professional development.

  • You collaborate with external engineering firms and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

  • You conduct technical analyses and make strategic design decisions.

  • You oversee the design process, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.

Job requirements

Why you make a difference? You...

  • Have at least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the process industry (or similar) and have proven leadership experience.

  • Bring in-depth knowledge of mechanical design principles, industry standards, and technical specifications.

  • Are proficient in 3D design software, such as SolidWorks.

  • Have a preferred understanding of thermal dynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and scalability.

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

  • Combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to tackle complex technical challenges.

  • Are an excellent communicator and mentor, with the ability to guide and inspire your team.
