Legal Counsel

At RIFT, we are building a new energy alternative with Iron Fuel Technology, a circular fuel that helps heavy industry become more sustainable. To make our projects worth €100M+ legally and contractually investment-ready, we are seeking an in-house Legal Counsel to elevate our dealmaking and project development to the next level. The organisation will rely on your expertise to ensure contracts are robust, strategic and future-proof.

How you make an impact

• Support the Development Team on all legal aspects of project development, from contract structures to supplier and financing agreements

• Review and negotiate complex contracts, identifying risks and proposing concrete mitigation measures

• Establish legal processes, templates and frameworks to ensure projects are efficient, compliant and scalable

• Proactively identify legal risks and opportunities, advising the Management Team on strategic implications for projects

• Ensure governance and compliance throughout all phases of project development so that projects are executed transparently and professionally

What you’ll do as Legal Counsel

• A completed Master’s degree in Law and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project development, energy, or infrastructure

• Proven experience with complex contracts and negotiations in an international context

• Commercial insight combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach

• Strong analytical skills with an eye for both risks and opportunities

• Proactive and independent, with the ability to professionalise the legal foundation within a start-up
