RIFT is an R&D-driven start-up currently operating two pilot plants in Helmond and Arnhem. As we prepare to enter our next growth phase, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the operational framework and teams of our organization as we transition to the commercial phase.


How you can make an impact

As COO, you will be pivotal in shaping the future of RIFT by establishing a foundation that enables significant growth. Your role will involve overseeing and optimizing key operational areas including project management, engineering, operations, facilities, HSE, and procurement. Ensuring these teams operate efficiently and align with RIFT's strategic objectives will be crucial in driving the company forward.

A central aspect of your role is the development, management, and nurturing of our teams. You will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, while inspiring and guiding team members. Your leadership will be essential in building a strong, motivated team and supporting RIFT’s growth trajectory.

Collaborating closely with the CEO, CTOs, CFO, and CHRO, you will be instrumental in navigating RIFT through its growth and transition phases. Your strategic guidance will influence both day-to-day operations and the long-term success and positive impact of the company.


What you do as Chief Operations Officer (COO)

  • You are a member of the Management Team, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • You manage and build teams across all operational aspects of the company, including project management, engineering, construction,  operations management, facilities, and HSEQ. 
  • You set up and improve all processes and structures for HSE, procurement, logistics, supply chain, service, facilities, and IT, ensuring quality during the commercial rollout.
  • You will, in the future, be responsible for building and managing the teams overseeing our commercial sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget according to customer contracts.

Job requirements

Why you make a difference? You...

  • Have at least 10 years of experience in scaling up operations and building teams, preferably within the process industry, engineering firms, or EPC for the process industry.
  • Bring expertise in creating new processes and structures that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across all teams.
  • Have experience with quality management systems for commercial implementation.
  • Are fluent in both Dutch and English, enabling effective communication within the teams and with external partners.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment, as a people-oriented team builder and team developer.
  • Are able to facilitate teams and individual team members to perform at their best, adhering to quality standards.
  • Enjoy taking on challenges and making the seemingly impossible possible.
