Job description

As a Business Developer at RIFT, you help accelerate the decarbonization of industrial heat. You are the commercial driving force behind our Iron Fuel Boiler Technology. From strategic advice to signed contracts, you lead customer engagements with a focus on long-term value and results. By translating technical innovation into compelling business cases, you play a key role in shaping how RIFT develops commercially, and how we position ourselves as a market leader in clean industrial heat.

What you’ll do as a Business Developer

  • Lead high-level customer conversations and advise industrial clients on sustainable heat solutions

  • Take full ownership of the commercial process, from first contact to deal closure

  • Develop tailored proposals, business cases and incentive-based financial models in collaboration with legal and finance

  • Align customer needs with technical feasibility, working closely with engineering and project development

  • Use market insights to sharpen our proposition, segmentation and go-to-market approach

  • Represent RIFT at key industry events and build relationships with strategic partners and customers

Job requirements

What you bring as a Business Developer

  • Solid understanding of industrial processes or thermal systems

  • Able to translate technical solutions into clear customer value

  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English

  • At least 3 years of experience in business development, preferably in a technical or industrial context

  • Structured, quality-driven approach with sharp follow-up

  • Experience developing client proposals and business cases

  • Ability to align commercial strategy with technical and project teams

  • You refine propositions based on market feedback

  • You think ahead, learn fast, and adapt to client needs

  • Experience representing your organization in networks or at industry events
