Job description

As a Business Developer at RIFT, you help accelerate the decarbonization of industrial heat. You are the commercial driving force behind our Iron Fuel Boiler Technology. From strategic advice to signed contracts, you lead customer engagements with a focus on long-term value and results. By translating technical innovation into compelling business cases, you play a key role in shaping how RIFT develops commercially, and how we position ourselves as a market leader in clean industrial heat.

What you’ll do as a Business Developer

  • Lead high-level customer conversations and advise industrial clients on sustainable heat solutions

  • Take full ownership of the commercial process, from first contact to deal closure

  • Develop tailored proposals, business cases and incentive-based financial models in collaboration with legal and finance

  • Align customer needs with technical feasibility, working closely with engineering and project development

  • Use market insights to sharpen our proposition, segmentation and go-to-market approach

  • Represent RIFT at key industry events and build relationships with strategic partners and customers

Job requirements

What you bring

  • Commercial drive: You have at least 2 years of experience in business development and independently convert commercial opportunities into concrete deals and long-lasting customer relationships.

  • Technical insight: You understand industrial processes and thermal systems, and can translate technical concepts into customer-focused solutions in the energy transition.

  • Strong communication skills: You communicate clearly, persuasively, and with impact, tailored to both technical specialists and C-level stakeholders, in both Dutch and English.

  • Customer-oriented approach: You work in a structured and project-based manner, draft high-quality agreements, and ensure timely and accurate coordination with other teams.

  • Proactive mindset: You listen actively, ask insightful questions, learn quickly, and anticipate changing customer needs and market dynamics.
