Job description
As an R&D Engineer at RIFT, you'll work on breakthrough technology that helps decarbonize industrial heat. You'll play a key role in the development and optimization of our Iron Fuel Technology — combining fundamental research, data analysis and test development. Your work directly contributes to scaling up a new fuel system with global potential.
What you’ll do as an R&D Engineer
Conduct fundamental research on core aspects of iron fuel technology, with a focus on fuel production
Develop and validate numerical models and data analyses to support design and process optimization
Design, plan and execute experiments using existing and newly developed test setups
Support the scaling of research insights from lab to pilot and eventually industrial applications
Collaborate closely with colleagues across R&D, Engineering and Operations to turn insights into real-world improvements
Job requirements
What you breing as an R&D Engineer
An analytical mindset and a systematic approach to solving complex problems
Strong understanding of reactor engineering, chemical and thermodynamic processes — ideally from a completed degree in Chemical Process Technology or similar
Experience with data analysis, modelling and numerical methods
Ability to translate complex concepts into practical, applicable insights
Proactive, eager to learn and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team
Affinity with fluidized beds and thermochemical processes
