Junior Process Engineer

RIFT is an innovative startup leading the decarbonization of the heat-intensive industry with its Iron Fuel Technology. We are looking for a Junior Process Engineer who will play a vital role in the process design and development of our systems.

How you make an impact

As a Junior Process Engineer, you will be involved in the entire process, from concept to the physical startup of the system you have designed. You will collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to ensure that the system performs optimally. This learning role offers you responsibility, with support from your Team Lead, while being part of a fast-growing team where you have plenty of opportunities to grow!

What you do as a Junior Process Engineer

• You determine the requirements that systems must meet for optimal performance.
• You design chemical processes for Iron Fuel Technology, from concept to P&ID level.
• You work with the Technical Project Manager on feasibility studies and conceptual designs (FEL/FEED studies).
• You actively participate in the startup of systems, ensuring safety and operability.
• You contribute to safety studies (HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL) to identify safety risks and ensure that your colleagues can work safely.

Why you make a difference? You...

• 
  Bring at least 1 year of experience in process engineering within the heat, energy production, (petro)chemical, or similar industry.
• Have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Technology, Energy Technology, or a comparable field/experience.
• Have knowledge and experience with software and systems used in process engineering.
• Are eager to learn and open to feedback to further develop your skills.
• Have a strong focus on safety and quality in all your work.
• Are a good communicator and can collaborate well in (multidisciplinary) teams.
