Help build the next generation of industrial energy systems

At RIFT, we are scaling up our Iron Fuel Technology—from successful pilot installations to large-scale industrial energy systems. This means we're not only developing new technology, but also designing complete installations where process engineering, software, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering work seamlessly together.

To support this next phase, we are looking for a Medior Systems Engineer. Someone who can maintain the big picture, connect technical disciplines, and ensure that our systems are not only designed but also perform exactly as intended.

Your role

As a Medior Systems Engineer, you ensure that our technology functions as one integrated system. You connect software, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering while safeguarding the consistency between system architecture, requirements, and technical decisions.

From the initial design phase through commissioning, you maintain oversight of the entire system. You bring structure to complex projects, align multidisciplinary teams, and identify technical risks before they become issues. In doing so, you play a key role in developing the industrial energy systems that help accelerate the energy transition.

What you’ll do

• Develop and specify (sub)systems for new and existing industrial installations.

• Manage system and user requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle.

• Ensure technical alignment between software, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams.

• Coordinate system integration and execute verification, validation, and acceptance testing.

• Document designs, test results, and technical decisions, while proactively identifying and communicating technical risks to project management.

• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and EPC partners, and actively contribute to a safe working environment in accordance with the HSE management system.

You recognize yourself in many of the following:

• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.

• You have experience applying systems engineering principles in multidisciplinary engineering projects.

• You have knowledge of system integration and experience defining and managing technical requirements.

• You are experienced in technical documentation and familiar with relevant engineering standards.

• You have an affinity with industrial automation and industrial process installations.

• You hold a NEN 3140 VP certification, or you are willing to obtain one.
