Job description
As a Business Developer at RIFT, you focus on the sales and market positioning of high-quality specialty chemicals. You understand – and deeply grasp – what drives customers in these markets, know how to create value within technical specifications, and build long-term commercial partnerships. You will play a key role in scaling this market activity within RIFT.
What you’ll do as a Business Developer
Lead sales processes from initial contact through to contract negotiation
Proactively approach new customers and maintain long-term relationships at decision-making level
Develop a market strategy for specialty chemicals
Position RIFT’s value proposition in a market with high quality standards and technical expectations
Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance) to effectively translate and deliver on customer requirements
Discuss volumes, pricing, specifications, and delivery terms with customers
Provide commercial insights to refine customer segmentation and value propositions
Job requirements
What you bring as a Business Developer
Proven experience in complex B2B sales processes, including long sales cycles, stakeholder management, and contract discussions
Master’s-level working and thinking capabilities, with a background in commercial or chemical-commercial disciplines
Ability to translate technical specifications into commercial value and identify strategic opportunities
Knowledge of or experience in specialty chemicals (e.g. additives, adhesives, colors, coatings, or catalysts), including familiarity with material requirements and industrial quality standards
Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in French and/or German is a strong plus
