Join RIFT’s R&D team: research kinetics and modeling of iron oxide reduction and contribute to circular energy solutions.

Job description

Are you curious about how fundamental research can lead to practical solutions for the energy transition? At RIFT, you’ll dive into the kinetics and modeling of iron oxide reduction. Together with an innovative team, you will work on experiments, models, and analyses that form the foundation for a circular fuel technology.

What you’ll do at R&D

  • Conduct research on the kinetics of iron oxide reduction with hydrogen and other reactants, contributing to the development of a sustainable and circular energy carrier.

  • Build and optimize models for reactions and reactors, incorporating mass and heat transfer.

  • Analyze experimental data and translate results into insights on reaction rates and mechanistic models.

  • Work with Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) to determine reaction rates under different conditions.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers, contributing independently and critically.

  • Are studying Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Have knowledge of reaction kinetics, mass and heat transfer, and modeling of reactions or reactors.

  • Are analytical, accurate, and critical in your approach.

  • Can work flexibly and stay focused in an innovative research environment where uncertainty plays a major role.

  • Have experience with TGA or are motivated to quickly develop this skill.
